I grew up in an orphanage in Ukraine until I was 18. There wasn't much there. When I aged out, I made one decision: get out and build something. I came to the United States in 2005 with almost nothing. I put myself through a computer science degree at Utah Valley University while working as a technical sales engineer in Orem. Then an MBA at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, in 2016.
My first company was built from a gym. I was at 24 Hour Fitness and couldn't hear the TV while moving between machines. That frustration turned into a device that let anyone stream TV audio privately to their phone over Wi-Fi. No new headphones required. No bulky hardware to install. We got a CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree recognition. We won a Commercial Integrator BEST Award at InfoComm 2018. We filed to raise up to one million dollars. The product worked. The market timing was harder.
I'm not going to oversell what that company became. But I learned things you can't learn anywhere else. I learned how to build hardware from scratch. How to work with a firmware developer and ship a real product. How to handle a CES booth at 6am when you have no team. How to support actual customers with actual problems. How to keep going when it gets hard.
Then I went quiet for a few years. I didn't stop building. I just stopped announcing.
Now CloviTek is back as something different. An AI platform engine. We build and run 40+ white-label AI platforms — tools for content, legal, outreach, accessibility, automation, and media. Agencies and entrepreneurs can take any of those platforms, put their own brand on it, and launch it under their own domain. The infrastructure is ours. The brand is theirs.
I run this myself. I write the code, I answer the support tickets, I make the calls about what to build next. Not because I can't hire — because I believe the early customers of any software company deserve the founder's attention, not a delegate's.
